The Ketogenic or Keto diet has gotten A LOT of media coverage in the last few years. I decided to follow up my original Keto video with one where I actually try out the diet for myself.

I was not surprised that the keto diet was difficult to stick to because of the restrictive nature of it. However, the weight loss and other benefits were definitely noticed and fairly early on into the diet.

  1. Being keto is the only thing that has ever worked for me. Carb cravings go away, food cravings go away. One thing not mentioned is being in ketosis is not the same as being fully "fat adapted". This can take up to 12 weeks. My best half marathon I've ever ran was on full keto.

  2. I was on keto for a while! Maybe 2-3 months or so I have one lil thing to share.
    It's been practically a year since I was on the diet and my craving for sugar Is still impacted. if I eat say 2 cupcakes it becomes very hard to eat another, and if I do eat more I feel super ill. So I'm eating t o n s less sugar than I used to :).

  3. PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE make a video about FTM transgender nutrition, what foods don’t have phytoestrogens that would compete with estrogen receptors? What other vitamins, minerals should we make sure we consume on a daily basis? What foods should we avoid? HELP, pretty please!

  4. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia two years ago. I started KETO one year ago and my pain went from almost unbearable to absolutely manageable! Many of the things I was struggling with either decreased OR went away entirely. I still have a long journey ahead of, but I feel encouraged that I have found something that helps so well.

  5. So I did Keto for 2 months. It went very well. I noticed that I needed to drink more water, but the sugar cravings went away pretty quickly. I was enjoying what I ate more because it required me to put more thought and creativity in my meals. I did start getting heart burn after some of my meals, which turned me off the diet. I also learned to NOT donate blood while on Keto. That was the only time I was close to fainting while donating blood even though I drank more than enough water (about 4L) and had a good meal beforehand.

  6. I feel way better on keto???? can run way longer in an fat adapted stage don't get the highs and lows like with carbs????

  8. My dad is actually on this diet & has been for quite some time now. (Him & his doctor have agreed this is the route for him to go at this time) and he's successfully lost 108lbs. I'm so proud of him and he's still sticking to it. He's doing incredible and is still slowly getting healthier I'm so happy for him and so proud of him. I'm super glad you did this though so I could know a little bit more about his diet.

  9. lost 50 lb in 2 month was doing one meal every 72 hours at least once a week and one meal day for the remainder of the week. Started to plato as I started to cheat a bit, eat ice-cream or cereal or something with high sugar content. Yes get cravings to eat sugary things at times but if you can hold it out for an hour or so the cravings will go away.

  10. I’ve did keto for a few months and I can say that if you had extended the keto term to several months or more, you’d experience wet dreams about carbs like I did ????

  11. I have been doing keto for 3 days now and wow I feel amazing, I was almost keto anyways because I'm not able to have gluten or gluten free carbs.
