Well well well, now along with all the other metabolic disorders this disease too has engulfed a major chunk of population into its shackles from where there is no coming back. So, what actually Diabetes is? how does this occur? how to keep yourself from succumbing to it? and if you are already diagnosed with this disease so what next could be done. So, this article is going to cover all of those so better you stay tune!!!

So, what causes Diabetes and its effects on our body.

Diabetes Mellitus, commonly known as Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that causes high blood sugar. The hormone insulin moves sugar from the blood into your cells to be stored or used for energy. With diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can`t effectively use the insulin it does make.

Types of Diabetes:

1.Type 1 diabetes: The condition where your pancreas stop producing enough amount of insulin. Once diagnosed with this, patient will be kept on the insulin medication all his/her life and many more diabetic adversities to face.

2.Type 2 diabetes: The condition where your receptors have been damaged or they are less in number. That’s why your body cannot utilise the amount of insulin it’s already been producing. The Insulin production might be normal but this is the problem at cellular level. With the help of proper diet, this situation can be regulated but cannot be cured.

3.Prediabetes: Prediabetes means you have a higher-than-normal blood sugar level. It’s not high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes yet, but without lifestyle changes, adults and children with prediabetes are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

4.Gestational Diabetes: The high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth. It can happen at any stage of

pregnancy, but is more common in the second or third trimester. Those who develop gestational diabetes are at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.

Symptoms:

1.Frequent Urination
2.Blurry Vision
3.Extreme Fatigue
4.Soreness and wounds that don`t heal 5.Decreased sex drive

6.Erectile dysfunction
7.Urinary tract infection (male), yeast infection (female) 8.Dry & itchy skin

Controlling Diabetes

Well, the casualty has already taken place, but still the damage control can be done to a certain extent by making necessary changes into the life style to keep the situation from deteriorating any further. And that is only possible by cutting down your overall sugar, carbs (be it sugar or complex) intake and incorporating adequate amount of healthy first-class protein and fat preferably from the animal and dairy sources.

And remember, carbs = sugar!! So just because you have stopped consuming refined sugar with your tea but still is munching on fruits and jaggery in the name of “Healthy Sugar”, complex carbs in the name of “Healthy Carbs” then you are just fooling yourself and your health is going to downgrade even further.

The more carbs you eat, the more your blood sugar will rise and hence in order to bring down that very blood glucose your pancreas have to produce insulin in huge amounts. Thus, in the long run, your insulin receptors will get damaged because of the continuous action of insulin upon them and then you will be gradually moving towards Type 2 Diabetes and one day you will become one. Also, you will be becoming Insulin Resistance which will further make you obese. And even now if you have not changed your eating habits, slowly and gradually your pancreas too will start shutting down due to the extraneous pressure you are putting onto it on the daily basis. And finally, you will become Type 1 Diabetic.……Congrats!!!!!

So the ultimate solution is,

Consume Less carbs (sugar) === Less amount of insulin produced at a normal rate

If you did exactly what is mentioned above, you will initiate the process of Insulin Sensitivity which will further help you in fat loss and also will regulate your blood glucose levels. And of course, you will be taking your regular medications prescribed by your doc if you have already fallen a prey to it. And if not than just try not to be the one ever. Also include some workout regime in your daily schedule as well and try not to lead a sedentary life style, be active!
